Behind The Logo
It’s been an incredible year for Athletico in 2017. With the development of our CS:GO teams, expansion in uncharted PUBG territory and a multitude of roster changes, there has certainly been little time for rest. Now that 2017 is coming to a close we’ll take the opportunity to relax and reflect on all of our fantastic achievements throughout the year.
The year began with vigour as Athletico joined Australian Esports Media Group (AEMG) in association with Peanut Gallery Television an Women Playing Games Internationally. This gave us a fantastic opportunity for growth as an organisation and in Oceanic esports across multiple platforms.
Evolution of the Athletico Logo
Throughout the year we were able to branch out in the CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege scenes with a few roster adjustments and opportunities for improvement at LAN and internationally. This included the graduation of our CS:GO Academy team to Athletico Black and the adoption of new players for the Academy team. Not forgetting, of course, the fantastic achievement of the Athletico Female side at the Copenhagen Games Ladies Tournament as the first female Australian esports to compete internationally. We also lay down roots in some previously unexplored esports arenas withe acquisition of Rocket League, Overwatch, Call of Duty and PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround (PUBG).
It was not just in the area of gaming in which Athletico took some big steps, during the year we partnered up with several sponsors; Roccat, Herman Miller, ASUS Republic of Gamers, EyeGym and Zest Meals. It has been an absolute pleasure work alongside these companies in order to strive for the best in Oceanic esports. With 2017 behind us, Athletico now looks to 2018 and what is shaping up to be an exciting year in esports!
